DIOCESAN PRAYER CYCLE

1.

The Bishop and his ministry of pastoral care and oversight of the Diocesan flock; for strategy and planning. The Cathedral of the Good Shepherd, Miraflores, with its English and Spanish-speaking congregations. For the Diocesan NGO (non profit) “Comunión-Perú”, its Deacon, and all who work to make Christ’s love known in service and works of compassion. For the love of God to fill our Church. Thanksgiving for the Holy Scriptures.

2.

The clergy of the Diocese that they may be faithful priests, teachers and pastors of the flock of Christ. The Ascension Mission, now in Surco, thanking God for its new church in the Diocesan Centre, and its growing mission post in Breña. For the NGO’s and the Cathedral’s social workers, Erika and Esperanza, and the people they serve. For the poor and needy. Thanksgiving for God's call to mission and service.

The Parish of the Most Holy Trinity in San Juan de Miraflores, and its mission posts: St Paul’s, New Jerusalem, St Ann’s, Las Rocas and Valle 2,000. For the Anglican Communion, its provinces and dioceses. The recently baptised and those preparing for baptism. Defence programme for children and adolescents against abuse, and for those who work in the Bethlehem Centre, Lima. For those who have lost their faith. Thanksgiving for the healing ministry, Holy Anointing and the reconciliation of sinners.

The Parish Church of Jesus the Saviour in Villa El Salvador, and its mission post St Andrew. For youth ministry at local and diocesan level, and those who coordinate its work, Deacon Rachel, Paul, Lizbeth and Jasper. For our children’s centres run with Compassion International: Christ the Redeemer, St John the Evangelist, Jesus the Saviour (projected for November 2008) and the new St Peter’s project for mothers and babies. For the hungry. Thanksgiving for Holy Matrimony and married life; and for the celibate life.

The Mission Church St John the Evangelist, Pamplona Baja, with its children’s mission centre. The Anglican Women's Association (AMA) and its ministry among the women of the Diocese; and for its committee. For our Anglican Consortium of Education (COANED) which oversees our schools; for the Rev Jorge Águilar, the General Secretary, and its new autonomous status from January 2009. The Mission of Jesus the Nazarene in San Juan de Miraflores, with its mission post for the handicapped, Shalom. Pray that it may find land for a new centre. For the Most Holy Trinity Primary School (San Juan de Miraflores), for Head Teacher Isabel Montoya, staff, personnel and pupils, and praying a new site for the expanding numbers. For the sick. Thanksgiving for Christ’s death on the cross, his resurrection and ascension.

The Mission St Matthew and its new mission posts in the north of Lima: St Patrick’s, ministering to the handicapped (Ventanilla), St Andrew’s (Puente Piedra), Fuente de Vida and Holy Spirit (Independencia). For vocations to the ordained ministry, and the ministry commission (CEMO); for the faithful discernment of God's call. For the Christ the Redeemer Infant School (Pampas de San Juan), for Head Teacher Patty, staff, personnel and pupils. For the physically and mentally handicapped. Thanksgiving for faith and salvation in Jesus Christ.

The Mission of St Philip, Cabanaconde - thanking God for the mission centre; and for its mission posts in Choco and the surrounding villages of Caylloma in the Colca Valley. Priests: Ian Montgomery, Jaime Siancas, Jesús Manuel Mejía, John Park, Jorge Aguilar, Jorge Samudia, Juan Carlos Revilla, Juan Bernardo Marentes, Antonio Centeno. The Mission of St Francis of the Cross in San Juan de Miraflores. Bible and prayer groups, that God deepen our commitment to the Holy Scriptures and his Word. For the new missions of Ica which grew from soup kitchens following the earthquake (August 2007): St Peter’s, St John the Baptist, Carmen, El Olivo and Tacama, thanking God for the gift of land from the people for two of them. Our father-in-God, the Bishop, for his healing, spiritual well-being and holiness of life. For the election of a suffragan bishop to support him. For the Ducks and Gardens programme, teaching skills and providing good food to the poorest families. For those who have lost their job and the long term unemployed. Thanksgiving for our Diocese and the Anglican Communion.

For the Arpilleras Project, making beautiful collages and changing the lives of the women in the three groups; for the Forrest Foundation and friends in the USA and UK who sell them. For the oppressed and downtrodden. Thanksgiving for the Holy Scriptures and the Catholic Creeds - Nicene, Apostles’ and Athanasian.

The Ascension Mission, now in Surco, thanking God for its new church in the Diocesan Centre, and its growing mission post in Breña. Financial support for our ministries and programmes, and its good administration. All benefactors and supporters of the Diocese and its work. With thankfulness to God for the privilege of being involved in disaster relief in Ica following the earthquake in August 2007, for the soup kitchens (x8), the medical posts and support of the injured in Lima’s hospitals; for friendships made, mission work continued and many who served. For those who are HIV+ and those who suffer from AIDS. Thanksgiving for preachers, teachers and theologians.

The Ss Augustine Seminary with its centres in Arequipa and Lima; for Allen Hill, Ron Robertson and all those who teach; for the seminarians and other students; accreditation of its courses; that the we may prepare ministers and missionaries, clergy and lay for the building up of the Church. In thanksgiving for the new Diocesan Centrem, its good administration, and the good administration of all our finances and property. With thankfulness to Jesus, who taught us serve and calls us his Church to serve those around us. For babies to be abhorted and their mothers. Thanksgiving for the call to holiness and prayer, and for the Christian moral teaching.
