DIOCESAN YOUTH MINISTRY
The diocesan youth ministry’s vision is for significant growth in the faith and number
of young Christians with an Anglican identity. With bags of passion but short
on resources the youth ministry’s focus is on training and equipping youth
leaders to evangelise, disciple and send out young people in service. We provide
resources and materials to youth leaders and their young people, deliver training
events, help new parishes and missions to begin their own youth ministries and
organise summer you
th camps for young people from across the diocese. We would
love to be able to expand these programmes and to help each of the diocese’s churches
and missions to have a vibrant and Christ centred youth ministry.
We have recently taken the exciting step of employing a diocesan youth coordinator,
something that is common for many churches in North America and Europe but a first
for our Diocese! We believe that Lizbeth [photo top left] has the faith, passion
and gifts that will help us to achieve our vision of growth. She writes: “It
is a great blessing for me to serve the Lord by supporting the diocesan youth ministry.
I have known God since I was a child but the day I really accepted him into my heart
was during a youth camp at a time when I had been doubting my faith. From 
then on,
my life’s purpose has been to love and serve him.”
In Peru, approximately a quarter of the population is between the ages of twelve and twenty five and yet the gospel has not reached many of them. The young people of Peru have great needs but, because of the country’s poverty, there are few resources. In this situation, the Diocese of Peru’s Youth Ministry is working to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to the many young people who need to hear it. Do join us in supporting the young people of Peru.
